Key Responsibilities: 
 
Support the charity’s role as the secretariat for the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Radiotherapy (APPG-RT): Plan and organise events and meetings and maintain regular communication with members. 
Monitor and research parliamentary developments: Track consultations and legislation of interest to RTUK, providing insights to inform strategy and produce briefings aligned with the charity’s objectives. 
Conduct stakeholder mapping: Identify and engage key political figures, including policymakers, parliamentary body leaders, officials, and advisers. 
Maintain and develop RTUK’s policy positions: Initiate, research, develop, and drive proactive policy and advocacy projects and campaigns. 
Identify influencing opportunities: Proactively seek out events and meetings to advance RTUK’s objectives. 
Manage and build relationships: Engage with key parliamentarians, staff, and partner organisations critical to RTUK’s campaigns. Brief stakeholders on RTUK’s policy positions. 
Capture data and case studies: Identify opportunities to gather information from RTUK’s service delivery to inform stakeholders and policymakers. 
Represent RTUK at events: Attend policy and networking events to advocate for RTUK’s mission. 
Monitor and evaluate activities: Establish methods for tracking and assessing activities, producing regular, high-quality reports as required. 
Enhance RTUK’s social media and communication profile: Work with the RTUK team to boost the charity’s presence online. 
Build strong working relationships: Collaborate effectively with RTUK’s team and volunteers. 
Act as a positive ambassador for RTUK: Represent the charity positively in all interactions. 
 
Person Specification

Professional Experience: 
Essential
 
At least two years of experience in a similar role. 
Strong interpersonal and networking skills, with experience in building relationships with and influencing diverse stakeholders. 
Proven ability to write engaging policy briefings and campaign materials. 
Demonstrated success in policy and campaigning delivery. 
Familiarity with the UK’s political institutions. 
Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage complex schedules. 
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking. 
Ability to communicate complex issues clearly and persuasively. 
Ability to manage multiple priorities, timelines, and stakeholders effectively. 
Accuracy and outstanding attention to quality and detail. 
Appreciation of public policy development and the role of the voluntary sector in influencing public policy. 
 
Desirable
 
Experience successfully engaging with Parliamentarians across the political spectrum to secure speeches, interventions, oral and written questions, EDMs, debates, and other parliamentary procedures 
Knowledge of the UK health system. 
Experience delivering patient-centred policy and campaigns for a health charity, including leveraging public engagement and media coverage. 
Proven experience working and communicating remotely.
